St. Paul tells us, here, that each person is uniquely gifted not only to serve God in his/her vocation, but also to serve God in the Church. The spiritual gifts can be found in three passages in Scripture.

Many have found benefit from using a Spiritual Gifts Inventory. These surveys help a person determine how God's Spirit might have blessed an individual to serve Him. If you are interested in taking such a survey, here is one from an LCMS congregation in Virginia. You can download it and do it yourself on your own computer.

Give it a try and see where God might be leading you to serve Him.
For a greater understanding of the spiritual gifts, I commend to you the following document from our Commission on Theology.
